In the forty-second episode of the Just Checking In Podcast we spoke to Vent Champion Charlie Roebuck.
Charlie is a former professional cricketer for Yorkshire County Cricket Club and now works as an Operations Manager.
In this pod we discussed his cricketing journey, the impact that long-term injuries can have on a players mental health and dressing room culture in the game.
We also discussed Charlie’s mental health journey, suicide, self-harm and the ups and downs that come with relapse and recovery.
Fatherhood was also on the menu. We talked about how the birth of his daughter Florence changed his life for the better and gave him renewed purpose and drive and of course, a mental health chat!
As always, #itsokaytovent
