JCIP #205 – Alexander L

0

In episode 205 of The Just Checking In Podcast we checked in with YouTuber and writer, Alexander L.

Alex lives in Norway and moved there from Poland when he was 16 years old.

He suffered severe bullying when he was at school in Poland which caused him to develop sex dysphoria and a feeling he was not ‘good enough’ to be a man.

He also felt disgust towards his genitalia and had a strong desire to escape his sexuality and sexual desire.

All of these combined to draw Alex towards the idea of transition and he went on oestrogen and a testosterone blocker when he was 19 years old.

He then socially transitioned and made the decision to get penile inversion surgery when he was 21 years old.

Fast forward a few years and he realised that transition was not the path for him and he decided to detransition. Unfortunately, during his attempt to detransition, he was sexually assaulted and also had issues with addiction, specifically antipsychotic medication and painkillers.

Alex is now 30 years old and speaks about his transition and detransition on his YouTube channel as well as other political and cultural issues.

In this episode we chart this journey of transition, detransition and how he is carving out a new path in life now.

We discuss the current state of the healthcare system for men and boys like him in Norway suffering from sex dysphoria, his plans to publish a book in the future and wanting to start an organisation for other people who have detransitioned in Norway.

As always, #itsokaytovent
